Privacy Policy

Biography.co is a website that helps people draft biographies from details they provide. Because biographies often contain personal or family information, we've designed this site to collect as little as possible and to be transparent about what does get processed.

The short version

• We do not require you to create an account to use the generators.
• We do not store the content you enter into a generator by default.
• We send the content you enter to an AI provider only when you click Generate.
• We collect leads from you only when you submit a contact form.
• We don't sell or share your data with third-party advertisers.

What information we collect

Information you enter into a generator. When you click Generate, we send the form fields you filled in (subject name, role, achievements, tone preference, etc.) to our AI provider over an encrypted connection. We retain only redacted, non-identifying metadata about the request (request type, length, tone, total character count) for abuse-prevention and quality purposes. The full content of your input and the generated draft are not stored unless you explicitly save the project.

Lead form submissions. When you submit the contact, inquiry, or acquisition form, we collect the name, email address, intent, message, and source page you provided. We store this in our database and email a notification to the site administrator. We use this information only to reply to you.

Technical metadata. Our server records standard request metadata (timestamp, IP address hash, user agent, route) for security, abuse-prevention, and rate-limiting. The IP address is hashed before storage.

Analytics. If analytics are enabled, we use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not set cookies, does not collect personally identifying information, and does not build cross-site profiles.

What information we send to AI providers

When you use a generator, we send the content of your form fields to an AI provider (by default, OpenAI). The provider may process this content to generate the response and may log it briefly for abuse-prevention purposes per their terms. We do not send your IP address, email, or any account identifier with the request. If the buyer of this site reconfigures the AI provider to use a self-hosted model on the same server, no data leaves the server at all.

Cookies

Biography.co does not set marketing or tracking cookies. We may use a single first-party preference cookie (for example, to remember a draft you started locally) and an analytics cookie if a non-tracking analytics provider is configured. We do not participate in cross-site behavioral advertising networks.

How long we keep information

• Generator inputs and outputs: not stored, except for non-identifying request metadata.
• Lead form submissions: kept until we've responded and for a reasonable follow-up period.
• Server logs: rotated according to standard server-administration practice.

Your rights

You can ask us to delete any information you've given us — a lead-form submission, a saved project, or anything else — by emailing the address in the footer. We'll confirm within a reasonable time.

Security

Biography.co runs over HTTPS, sets standard security headers, validates input on the server, and uses rate limiting on all forms and AI endpoints. No website is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we do collect.

Children

Biography.co is not directed to children under 13. Please don't submit biographies of minors without the consent of a parent or guardian.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For minor wording or structural changes, we'll update without notice.
